Gorgeous American Made 70s Semi Hollow Body Guild Starfire 6
This is a stunningly beautiful mid to late 70s Guild Starfire 6 built in their Westerly Rhode Island factory. The Starfire 6 is a very fancy version of the Starfire 4 and 5 and a much rarer instrument to find. If you are not familiar with these models, they are semi hollow body guitars similar to a Gibson ES 335. I am not sure of the exact year, but the serial number is 197700... some things I have read indicate 1979, maybe someone can tell me the exact year for sure. The guitar is in fantastic condition with only one small scratch on the back (see photo), a tiny scratch on the back of the neck and bit of chipping around the neck binding, both of which I couldn't get to show up in photos. The guitar is entirely original other than an excellent fret job I had done about 8 years ago. The gold plating is a bit worn on the pick ups and bridge. The guitar has a very comfortable round neck with low action and plays like a dream. You would be hard pressed to find a better example of this model and I'm only selling it because I have too many guitars and need to raise money for a major purchase. This guitar sounds, plays, and looks great! Overall I think this guitar is easily a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Some of the features include:
Figured maple neck, top, back and sidesAll gold hardware with an incredible tailpiece designMother of pearl rectangles with abalone triangles inside for position markers6 Layer black and white binding back and front3 Layer bound headstockBound F holesBound fingerboard with an extra triple layer of binding abou
