Selling my 1979 Gibson RD Artist:
asymetrical maple body is extremely well-balanced, and the 22-fret
ebony fingerboard features a 25 1/2'' scale length for more accurate
intonation. Combined with the TP-6 fine-tuning tailpiece and
tune-o-matic bridge the RD Artist is amazingly playable.
THESE GUITARS ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND IN THIS GREAT A CONDITION.
This RD DOES NOT have the original MOOG electronics or pickups. Instead it has been wired as a normal passive guitar. It is equipped with EMG 85 (Bridge) and Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Neck. There has also been a killswitch put in where the moog switch originally was. Comes with the Dimazio strap that it is equipped for. Also incldes the hardcase that I custom fit foam for.
This guitar is about a 9/10 in terms of condition for its age. It sounds great and has been loved by me for many years. It has a small bit of belt rash but nothing through the finish. The only flaw, which was there when i bought it, was that the pin on the back of the neck has been re-screwed and it appears there are 2 other holes there, as attempted to display by the photo. This affects the playability in no way and i never even really knew it was there.
Again this guitar plays great, has a straight neck and excellent action. Is currently set up to be played in a Drop C tuning.
