What I have here is a 1955 Gibson LG1 vintage acoustic. The sticker inside is missing and all I have to go off of is internet sources to try and nail down the year.According to this informational vintage Gibson website (http://www.provide.net/~cfh/gibson.html#serial) it's a 1955 as the Serial # starts with a (W)
This guitars serial # is (W1126 25) stamped on the inside neck block
Factory Order Numbers with a Letter, 1952 to 1961.
This letter preceeds the batch number within
the Factory Order Number (FON), and denotes the year of manufacturer.
Remember, the batch number is the first 4 digits of the FON, followed by
a 1 or 2 digit sequence number (within the batch). This letter should be
before the FON batch number.
This was used on archtop models (ink stamped inside treble F-hole) and on
flat top models (ink stamped on the neck block), from 1952 to 1961:
I wasn't able to capture a good picture of it, but I will keep trying. As you may have noticed in the pictures a previous owner has replaced the bridge and the original tuners. The tuners are quality Grover tuners however.I tried to capture all of the nicks and finish cracks as much as I possibly could.
