Yamaha has offered a wide range of solidly constructed musical instruments for over 100 years, including pianos, violins, band instruments, drums, and cymbals, and their selection of inexpensive and mid-range guitars is no exception: they are well-made of quality materials. This model, the F315-A, has apparently been discontinued, but it is an excellent entry level instrument, since its lighter weight makes it easier to handle than most dreadnought–size steel string guitars. It also is easy to upgrade by simply replacing the nut, saddle, and bridge pins with bone or tusq parts for about $20, as suggested by several enthusiastic owners on the internet.
Since this model has been discontinued, I have no official specs and I am not much of a wood person. However, this guitar appears to have a spruce top and mahogany back, sides, headstock, and neck, probably all laminated. It has a 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard, a rosewood bridge, black body binding on top and back, and a multi-stripe rosette.
There are various dings throughout and several chips out of the bottom lower bout (visible in pictures 5, 6, and 7), but generally the natural finish top and glossy back and sides are in good condition, with no cracks or serious issues. This is really a nice-looking instrument for the money, and it plays and sounds as good as it looks. If you check the owner reviews on the internet, you will be surprised at the praise this model gets.
The chip board case shown in pictures 1 and 12 fits perfectly and is also in used condition%2
