Vintage KAY Resonator guitar

Price : US $63.54
for auction is a unique Kay resonator guitar that needs some parts. The
tuning key buttons seem to be the plastic ones from the 1950's that
shrank over time. They still work fine but I'd hesitate to use a string
winder on them. A nut is needed at the top of the fretboard. Three
resonator cones, a tailpiece and strings would complete the project.
The large cone would need to be 12 1/2 inches and the small ones would
be 3 inches. The neck heel has been cut away to give more access up the
neck which still appears to be a solidly glued joint. (See picture.)
The neck is straight and the frets are in very good shape. The finish
has been stripped and sanded away from the front and back of the body
but the back of the neck, peghead and sides of the guitar still have
the original finish. The inlay pattern on the back of the guitar is an
attractive feature. The guitar has a nice heft and feel and I wish I
could play it when it's together.
Bidding starts at $9.95 and there is no reserve.
Shipping to the lower 48 states would be between $35 and $55 depending on the destination.
