Vintage Martin Goya G 200 Acoustic Guitar
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2008-10-13)
Price : US $242.50
Here is a great Martin acoustic guitar, Goya G-200. The top appears to be solid spruce, with very pronounced grain and beautiful cross patterns. This cross patterns are seldom seen on other guitars, and they go from left to right of the top. They apppear like waves, as seen on the pictures. Pretty unique. The top has deep natural color, that is almost yellow/orange. The side and back appears to be mahogany with red/brown tint.
This guitar has 21 frets. (Most acoustic guitars have only 20 frets. So with this one, you will have extra room for your higher notes.) The fretboard appears to be rosewood. It has a bone saddle and solid brass bridge pins. The brass pins blends beautifully with the dark color of the top.
The bridge is well intact to the top, no sign of lifting or top bulging. The neck is butted very well to the body; no sign of separation.
This guitar projects a beautiful and well balanced tone, with great sustain. I own several vintage guitars, and this one projects the same sound as my vintage Martin Sigma DR-7.
It is freshly stringed with Martin light gauge 80/20. I took this guitar recently to our local Guitar Center, and it easily outgunned the $1,000.00 guitars on display there (something to brag about.) I think it will do even better with phosphor bronze
