Pre-war Martin guitars are legend, and deservedly so. It should come as no surprise then that a re-issue of the 1934 D-18 brings a unique and delicious sound. Here is the Martin D-18 GE (Golden Era), a guitar for those who appreciate great tone and crafsmanship.
Start with Adirondack Spruce (Red Spruce) top. Red Spruce is sought after for the vintage tone and resonance that older Martins are famous for. Add solid Mahogony sides and back, Ebony long-saddle bridge and fingerboard, scalloped 5/16'' forward-shifted bracing (vintage style of bracing), modified V-neck, fossilized ivory nut and saddle, Waverly Butterbean open-gear tuners.
This guitar sounds solid and loud, with a tone you have to experience. The guitar has been gently played in a non-smoking environment. Never gigged. Near-mint condition, with only a few tiny surface scratches - nothing that shows in photos. Includes a Martin original hard-shell case.
