Gibson 1942 1945 J45 Banner Guitar
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2008-09-30)
Price : US $3,505.
For sale is what I believe to be a late-1942, 1943 or 1944 Gibson Banner Guitar. Since there is no serial number inside on the heel or anywhere else, I can only go by the information from the Gibson Guitar book. Note: it doesn't have the ''firestripe'' pickguard of 1942. Also note it does have a truss rod. It appears to be all original in finish, though I'm not sure about the tuning keys. Like the excerpt by John Jackson in the Gibson book says: the bass kills a Martin or any other acoustic I've ever had or heard and I've had a few Martins including a 1967 D-28. The guitar has some cracks on it that were repaired by who know who or when and they didn't seem to be concerned about wiping off the excess glue; however, the guitar is all together and sounds wonderful and just needs a good home as I know it would have with anyone who bids on this instrument. I don't have the original case, but will provide a new hardshell case for the buyer.
