Early 60's Epiphone Sorrento.Serial number 3840**. Made in Kalamazoo. Stock. It appears a neck re set was done by a prior owner. I would imagine it was done to lower the action. I say ''it appears'' because there are a few small finish imperfections where it looks like glue leaked in the area around the neck body, neck heel joint, and the touch ups could be done better by someone with the talent and the time - see photos.
The prior owner did not do the neck re set, but he guarnteed me the neck was rock solid, and it has been. Other than that the finish is great, almost perfect. Very little if any belt buckle rash, no breaks -- very, very clean finish.
Action is good - guitar stays in tune, has the correct tune-o-matic with nylon inserts. Nice jazzer, even a cool rockabilly guitar.
These guitars seem to be going up in value about 100 bucks a year -- can't say the same about most new stuff anywhere near this price range.
Comes with a non original later model Epiphone hard shell case.
Good old Kalamazoo quality -- hard to find these days...
