Price : US $2,600.
1971 Martin D35S Guitar formerly owned by Hank Snow.
This is a knockout of a guitar that was purchased from the estate of Hank Snow ''The Singing Ranger'' and member of The Country Music Hall of Fame.
One of the loudest Martins with Indian Rosewood I have ever heard. Reminds me more of a mahogany guitar than rose wood. Very clear high end and super tight and punchy low end. 12 fret/slotted peghead guitar that is super easy to play. Rosewood back and sides with a spruce top. In original hardshell case. A few belt buckle scratches on the back and a small strap hole on the back of the peghead. The heel has never been drilled. The guitar is completely original except for the tuners. I had the originals taken off and are included in the auction. It can be put back to exact original but it's not a good idea if you are going to play it. The original Grover tuners this model from Martin of this era are horrible. I had new vintage style Klusons put on by a pro shop here on Music Row (without drilling any new holes in the peg head!) and they are awesome. The guitar stays in tune and is a working professional instrument again.
