Price : US $3,625.
This auction is for a Georgeous vintage Gibson acoustic flaptop guitar. The exact model has been hard to pin down for me. First we know it is was purchased during world war II and is determined to be between 1940-1945,, model J45. In 1946 gibson stopped stamping ''only a gibson is good enough'' on the head stock, (which this guitar has)! this guitar also has the large gold GIBSON logo in script on it. It has X bracing inside the body. The stamp or sticker that was inside the soundhole is obviously gone. The sound of this thing is amazing, huge fat tone and tuners are in perfect working order. I was told by a local guitar shop owner that the guiar is completely ORIGINAL (hes not a gibson expert). Gibson vintage sunburst finish is beautiful. I will list condition of guitar seperately by parts.
1. Head stock and tuning keys: Great working order and stays in tune amzingly well, all logos are in tack obviously shows wear for a guitar thats over 60 years old.
2. NECK: neck is perfectly straight and all frets are in tack and finish on neck is very good.
3.BODY: Front of body is in good condition pick guard in good shape. Back of body in amazingly good shape . Sides on top are in great shape. Bottom side of guitar has damage (where the guitar would rest beside your leg while playing) its a series of cracks and we think it happened while in its case the orginal case (which is not included) was damage on one side which caused the damage we think to the guitar its still in tack and still plays perfect its j
