Here we have a 1987 USA Jackson Custom Soloist. I say Custom mainly because everything Jackson did at that time was made to order so no two guitars were the same. Since the guitar was made in 1987 that means it was made in Ontario, California.
-Neck-through body design. Ebony fretboard, with very minimal fretwear, as well as binding on headstock and neck. Hum-single-single pickup configuration. Stock Jackson single coils and a Dimarzio DP-153 FRED pickup(not original) in the bridge position. 3 mini toggle switches that switch on and off each pickup, making many different pickup combinations possible. The original middle switch nut and washer have been replaced with black replacement parts however my camera flash made them look brown, but they are indeed black. ORIGINAL FLOYD ROSE trem that is made in Germany, and comes with original trem bar.
Now, I believe this guitar has been repainted, but whoever did it did an awesome job and looks very professional. There is one ding on the front edge of the body, no paint chipped but it is still there. Some of the clear coat over the binding has chipped off, right around the 19th fret. Also some idiot that had the guitar before me decided he would hard-mount the bridge pickup to the body and remove the pickup ring. While doing so he screwed too deep and there is a bubble in the finish. Really nothing too bad, the finish has not cracked or anything around that area, so it is only cosmetic. Since then I ordered a brand new pickup ring from ''Fretsonthenet.com'', this was custom made to the same over-sized specs that Jackson used back in the 80's.
