These guitars, particularly the HG-310, HG-320 and HG-340, were MIJ in 1978-1980. Hohner succeeded mightily in building a series of high-quality instruments that sounded/looked great, were affordable, AND were built to last. The sentimental value of these models among their owners is what drives prices up. As it stands, an HG-310 is worth about $250. But someone will ask and can get $400+ because they're so tough to part with, and they have a reputation for holding their own among higher end US-made guitars. The guitars are all solidly constructed of quality materials, and the workmanship, for the price, is excellent. The earlier model headstocks had some curves and flair to them. But the later years of the lot have squared off heads like Martins. These are the ones to keep an eye out for. Happy playing!

Do you know if it has solid top, back, or sides? Thanks! I'm looking at one now but don't want to buy unless it's solid wood, at least on the top. You should be able to tell by looking on the inside of the wood around the soundhole--if its solid it will be one piece of wood, if its laminated you'll see the ply layers most likely.

I've had one of these since 1975. I paid almost $400 Canadian. I would want at least double that to part with it. Mine must be an even earlier edition since it doesn't have a s/n as the one posted does. It looks the same otherwise. Beautiful to look at, wonderful to play, fantastic to listen to.

Hey! I have this guitar. My dad bought it new and I ended up with it. I have been trying to find a fair value for it also, no-one seems to know. Mine is in mint condition also. Barely used. I was going to list it on ebay for $400 and see what happens.

Must be a very "Limited Edition" if It's not in the Blue Book. Might be hard to determine a fair price. eBay maybe, but Hohner is not a common name in Guitar circles.

Not in the Blue Book. Must be rather rare.

Guitar has had a professional installation of a top quality under the saddle pickup and plays like a dream. Might sell it if I can find its value is significant
