Vintage Ibanez Concord 699 Flame Maple

This is a Vintage Ibanez Concord 699 acoustic guitar ''Wow All Maple''. The top is spruce, most likley sitka, has nice colour banding and silking. The rest of this beauty is curly (flame) Maple. Two piece back and what looks like to me a three peice laminated maple neck. The most striking and unique thing about this guitar is the maple fretboard. From information collected about this guitar, it was made early to mid '70's from their ''Natural wood series''.

Now more about the condition, there is quite a bit of ''player scratches'' accross the top, from strumming, not through the finish and could be polished out.Neck joint seems solid but does show signs that may have been repaired at some time (see pictures) Neck is perfectly straight and the finish on top of the fretboard is seemingly untouched. The first three frets have just been replaced by a pro(cowboy refret).

A complete setup fret polish new Gibson strings and saddle have all been done. This guitar sounds and plays awesome(very low action and no buzzing). All in all this guitar is in remarkable shape for it's age of aprox.30 some years. Case (old and ratty).

Sold ! This guitar is sold (sold on 2006-02-19)

One of the best sounding guitar I've ever played. Certainly not the easiest, but absolutely the strongest, most resonant tone. Best for strumming. Less so for fingerstyle. Strings tend to blend together.
