You are bidding on a 1994 Hamer USA Studio, finished in a rare emerald green color. This guitar has a mahogany body with a maple top, mahogany neck, and a rosewood fretboard. It has the standard Hamer wiring scheme of two volume controls, one tone control, and a three-way switch.
Where do I even begin to describe all of the great features of this guitar…it has a ton of upgrades to improve tone and playability. The stock frets were worn when I got the guitar, so it has been refretted with 6100 jumbo fretwire from Warmoth. After being refretted, I sent it to luthier extraordinaire Phil Jacoby in Baltimore to have the frets leveled on a Plek machine. If you’re not familiar with the Plek, it is a computerized machine that levels frets much more accurately than even the best luthier could do by hand. This allows you to get the absolute lowest action possible without buzzing or fretting out. The new frets have no wear on them, they are essentially brand new. The stock nut was replaced with an Earvana retrofit nut, which helps improve intonation throughout the fretboard.
The stock pickups have been replaced with a Rio Grande BBQ in the bridge, and a Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro in the neck. Please note that the stock Hamer pots were replaced with 500k CTS audio taper pots. Hamer guitars use specially-tapered pots, which I could never get used to. So I replaced them when I added the new pickups.
The stock tuners have been replaced with Grover locking tuners. These tuners have an internal locking mechanism, so there is no need for a locking wheel. They look just like standard tuners, but they provide the tuning stability and convenience of locking tuners.
