This an Ovation nylon-string acoustic/electric guitar (Classic Model 1763). It was made in New Hartford, Connecticut, USA in 1989 (serial # 382751). I bought it new in April 1990 and have been the original owner since. It is in an excellent mint condition, like new. No cracks, no dents, no scratches and no repairs anywhere. Even the original hard-shell case is scratch-free. The top is cedar with a natural finish. It has a deep-bowl round back and an ebony fingerboard. The 24-gold-plated tuning machines are responsive and precise. The acoustics are great, producing a crisp, rich and well-balanced sound. It has a large volume and the projection is particularly impressive. I have used it unplugged to perform classical (Baroque) music on stage occasionally. The OP-24 active preamp with 3-band EQ makes it a powerful, fun-to-play instrument on stage for fingerpicking and other styles of playing. The neck is perfectly straight, no warping. The action is very low, easy to play and without buzz. The action is 2.5 mm for the 1st string and 4 mm for the 6th string (measured from the bottom of the string to the top of the fret at the 12th fret). The cut-away makes it easy to access the high positions. The intonation is perfect all the way up the neck due to the well-compensated saddle design. From the Ovation website the suggested retailed price for this model was $1,149 in 1989 and increased to $1,649 in 1999, which was the last year they produced this model.
