Price : US $3,000
1953 Epiphone Zephyr Emperor Regent serial #66407 in beautiful, all original condition, owned by the same person for many years. Very attractive and clean original guitar, this model was the flag ship of the great Epiphone Guitar Company prior to being purchased by Gibson. Beautiful flamed maple top, figured quilted maple back, very attractive brown to yellow sunburst, all original parts still retain their gold plating, and only display nominal wear. Neck angle is perfect, action is low, original adjustable wooden bridge is not sanded or made smaller. As typical of these instruments, the multiply binding is pulling away in these places: back side bottom by strap button, back side top under heel cap (missing small piece), back side cut away, back side upper bout (as pictured), as well as fingerboard binding by nut. Removed strap pin from heel leaving unfilled hole and minor finish damage surrounding (as pictured). Electronics perfect, no after market repairs or modifications, original leather hardshell case coming apart at the seams included. Very clean, all original instrument suitable for collecting or playing.
