Here's a 1967 Guild Starfire III guitar with the original hardshell case. Plays and sounds great, in the transparent cherry finish, which has some checking to the finish as well as assorted small nicks or scratchs here and there , and some belt buckle worming to back but not bad at all, overall I'd say it has just the right amount of wear.
It's all original except someone changed the tuners long ago to the butter bean grovers, a popular thing to do in the 60's and 70's.
The headstock faceplate has shrunk at the top edge (see pic), I've seen others with the same shrinkage at the top edge only. Surprisingly there is no binding shrinkage on the body in the tight curves. I
The pickguard has stress cracks at the screw holes(see pic) not that big a deal, and the first four or five frets have string grooves in them, but still plays great with low action and no buzzing. Solid neck joint and finish on back of neck is fine.
Has that big time Rockabilly thing going on with the Bigsby, but will put a smile on your face for whatever kind of music you play.
Ser. No. EK 24xx.
