One of a kind Resonator Guitar Made by Bill Bonanzinga One of a kind Resonator Guitar Made by Bill Bonanzinga

Bill Bonanzinga is know for his acoustic guitars & wiessenborn inspired models. He has made to my knowledge two other resonators guitars made out of Spanish cedar. If you are not familiar with Bill's work, just Google his name.

This is a one of a kind Resonator Guitar made by Bill Bonanzinga. This is one of Bill's early guitars that had a round neck installed. For what ever reason, the neck had been long gone. When I saw it in his closet I begged him to put a square neck on it for me.

The Specs go as follows:

- Body style Mini Jumbo 3 " deep lower bout waist upper bout

- Solid Flamed Maple body

- 2 Pc neck with Rosewood strip, Rosewood Finger board maple w/ fret marker inserts

- Elongated open maple sound well

- Sperzel gold satin locking tuners

- Gold plated import hardware

- Quaterman cone with # 14 Spider Bridge (maple/ebony inserts)

- Maple Binding with Rosewood Purfling

- 2 carved leaf patterns above the sound holes stained green with gold outline

- 25 1/2" Scale, 14 Frets to the body

Here is some more history

I have had this guitar in my possession for more than 8 years. It was an early guitar Bill had made. I cannot date it exactly but it is at least 18 years old. I purchased the body and neck only as a shop guitar with no warrantee or obligations from Bill and installed the necessary hardware. The neck meets the body at the 14 fret which is common for round neck guitars. That makes no different on playability just getting used to the fact the 12th fret is not at the body connection. There is a 2" finish crack from the sound well opening to the bottom heel on the top near the tail piecem mostly un-noticable. There are some scratches here & there but overall a nice piece. I myself elongated the sound well openings to let more volume and sound out (my choice with sound wells).

A little about the sound......

This is one of the most sweetest sounding resonators you will ever find. The shape/size & maple body produces pronounced Mid tones giving this guitar no harshness and unwanted overtones with all the volume and bass response you will ever need. It plays smooth passed the 12th fret and can bark when needed on fast tunes. I have used this guitar on stage for years and have recorded with it on a few occasions as wel
