We have a Martin guitar Style 1-34 that you might show interest in. The Martin guitar in question is a Martin Style 1-34, made during the period 1867-1897. With scalloped -x bracing (introduced in 1840).

As is typical of Marting guitars made prior to 1898, the instrument has no serial number. The stamp on the neck block reads "C.F.Martin & Co - New York", which is typical of 1867 through 1897.

The stamp on the vertical back brace below the soundhole is partially illegible and the stamp on the back of the peghead has been heavily worn and partially illegible. The guitar has been refinished, the top has two spliced repaired cracks, and the bridge is a replica (restored), made of ivory in a style similar to the original. The body dimensions conform to size 1 while the ornamental specifications and wood conform to the style 34 with Adirondack spruce top with multicolor wood edge trim, abalone soundhole rosette, Brazilian rosewood back, sides, and peghead veneer, cedar neck with grafted slottted peghead (look at the photos of the tuning pegs - amazingly beautiful), ebony fingerboard (the dot inlays were probably added later), and ivory binding on the fingerboard as well as top and back edges of the body.

The instrument is still very much playable (with nylon strings) for classical music. She certainly doesn't look her age. She has an excellent sound.

We just thought we would like to let you know that we are looking for a new home for this precious instrument. The guitar is being listed with a price of 19.500 USD. We would accept any serious offers in that area.

I can send you all the pictures I have so if you do have an interest in this old Martin from the 19th century, let me know.
