You are bidding on a 1983 Guild Starfire 4 guitar with hard shell plush lined case both in very good condition for 24 years old. I am the original owner of this beautiful guitar.
The 1983 version of the Starfire was made in the Westerly, RI factory. This guitar has some great features not found on earlier models such as an all maple body construction; top, back, sides with a 3-piece maple neck with ebony finger board and dot position markers (most Starfires have a mahogany neck with rosewood finger board). The 83 Starfire also has a stock stop tail piece instead of the harp tail piece for added sustain. The pickups are both stock, XR-7 type hot humbuckers. The machines are Guild enclosed single units in chrome as is all the hardware. The semi hollow body has an ash internal block connecting the top and back to reduce feedback.

These controls and knobs are all stock. I have two additional toggle switches added. The first puts the neck and bridge pickup out of phase with each other. The second takes the two coils of the bridge pickup from standard parallel operation to series operation, this thins the full humbucking sound out some. The neck pickup is wired with the coils in series, this helps give a more acoustic sound. Both pickups can easily be rewired for the original stock setup, I will include the wiring diagrams for both the present and stock configurations.
