Hello and thanks for looking. Up for auction is one of best Fender Telecasters made in my opinion. I am a Tele freak and this one is one of the best or the best I have played and heard. This is a 1998 Tele Deluxe made in the USA with an all Maple neck and a bound Alder body with a 3 tone burst finish. The body is contoured, the guitar is really solid, the craftsmanship is superb, the fretboard has rolled edges for comfortable playing. One of the best things about this guitar is the three pickup strat configuration. You get all the bite and snarl from the lead pickup, all the warm delicious tone from the neck pickup and the benefit of the quacky throaty strat sounds in positions two and four. It still sounds and plays like a Telecaster. Just with added features. The middle position is just the in your face middle pickup great for just about anything from standout rhythms or leads.
The pickups are all Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele and Strat pickups. They really sound excellent with true Fender tone without the noise. This guitar is rare because they only made the 3 pickup Tele deluxe for a few years. In addition to the three pickups, this has a mini toggle between the volume and tone knobs which turns the bridge pickup in and out of the circuit for positions 3, 4 and 5 on the pickup selector. You get all the strat pickup configurations, all the classic tele config (bridge and neck together) and sound, and all three pickups if you want.
The condition is very good to excellent for being almost 10 years old with minor blemishes on the finish and two small chips/nicks in the finish around the edges (picture shows how small they are). The frets barely have any wear and the guitar plays very easy. VERY easy. I really wish I could keep this one. It really is a unique guitar as far as Fenders are...
