With Original Hamer Hard Shell Plush Guitar Case
This guitar is a First series Hamer Special, Made in America, Made in Chicago, by Jol Dantzig and Paul Hamer when they were still producing hand made instruments. The Hamer Special was introduced in 1980 and this guitar has Serial Number 1 3390, which makes it a 1981 model. It comes complete with the original Hamer plush lined hard shell case.
Flat flame maple top, glued-in 22-fret mahogany neck (24.75 inch scale) with rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays and three-a-side peghead, in Honey Transparent finish.
Sustain block bridge, Schaller tuners and comes custom with two shielded OBL Bill Lawrence L-500 humbucking pickups. Controls are a tree-way switch, two volumes and a master tone.
The guitar is in fantastic condition with only very minor play wear on it in the usual places. The frets are like new. I would give this guitar a good 9.5+ out of 10 on overall condition.
This guitar has been well cared for and played only a handful of times. The neck is straight and the action is low. The guitar has never been repaired. There are no cracks in the finish, and only a very few minor nicks in the lacquer as shown in the pictures. This guitar is in near mint condition and looks like its never been played.
The Hamer Standard is an exquisite example of traditional craftsmanship. Both body and neck are carved from the finest straight-grain British Honduras mahogany.
