This is a No Reserve auction for a Vintage 1958 Danelectro DC Electric Guitar. Serial #: 2098 Pot #: 137833 This vintage Danelectro definately shows some signs of use, but is set up well and plays/sounds great. Original aluminum nut, lipstick pickup, chrome bridge, wooden saddle, all electronics. Tuners are original, or at the very least period/make/model correct, with the exception of one screw that is an obvious replacement. Bottom plastic strap knob is broken off and there is a screw hole next to the top knob has been been replaced with a metal strap knob--see pics for details. The top strap knob has been moved around a couple of times, hence the screw hole in the top horn and the hole where the original plastic strap knob went--again, pics show the details. The pickguard is missing, and the finish marring on the bass string side of the body may have been an attempt by someone to glue one on that side. There are no extra screw holes in the face of the body, and in fact, the screws that held the old pickguard in place are still there. The finish loss on the back of the neck actually makes the neck feel better and is centered around the ''open chord'' area of the neck. The action on this guitar is very nice, the neck is straight and the rosewood fretboard is in excellent shape. There is virtually no fretwear, leading me to believe that this guitar was refretted at some point. The refret was done very well.
Thanks for looking.
