If you\\\'ve stumbled across this you\\\'re probably looking to buy one real cheap for a project or have one and just curious what it\\\'s worth. What ever the case may be I\\\'ll make this as detailed as possible without taking measurements. Now my price is misleading, Yes I did get this for free with no parts included, but I do work at a guitar store as a freelance tech. So, an easy tube amp repair will get you this. The owner wanted $50 for the bare neck and body, so I would say thats what it\\\'s worth without parts and MAYBE 75-100 with parts and case. From everything I could find online and by looking at mine this is what I know. Global guitars were sold at cheap department stores in the $40-50 price range.

Lets start with the neck: Neck has fake binding around the heel and fretboard. Headstock binding is real. Global had 2 different logos, one was cursive the other gothic style print. It has a Gibson style inlay with an open book headstock. probably pre-lawsuit. truss cover has 3 screws. Neck material looks like a high quality pine, fretboard is the same just stained very dark. mother of pearl inlays on the fretboard. There\\\'s also very thin fret wire. Neck is a four screw bolt on with a narrow neckplate. 22 fret neck.

Now the body: body has a real plastic binding but looking closely the top 2 tone paint job looks like a laminate. either that or a poor tape off job because the binding has straight edges overlapping. anyways, standard les paul setup: 3-way switch, 2 vol 2 tone, tune-o-matic w/ stoptail, 2 humbuckers, 3-ply pickguard, and an over sized input jack plate. from what I\\\'ve found, the humbuckers were actually single coils jammed into a humbucker casing. the body like I said has a nice top look but the sides clearly look like plywood. This is a hollow chambered top. 2 strap buttons obviously. Standard route job on an LP copy, One for controls another for the top bout switch. switch cavity has a plastic 3-screw cover, control cavity has a plastic 4 screw cover.

It\\\'s plywood, it\\\'s sounds very decent, great for a beginner looking for a project or a collector of rare Les Paul copies. This should be helpful, there are more questions out there than answers about these guitars.
