1975 Fender Stratocaster in great shape
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2009-01-23)
Price : US $1,500.
I bought this at a pawn shop so I haven't owned it long. I had it gone over by my guitar tech. It's all original except for the saddles which are graphite. You can find those anywhere. 2 pickups are original. The black one in the bridge position is some hi gain single coil but we don't know what brand. It hasn't been routed out. It has been refretted and the fingerboard sanded down lightly to play better. It was obviously done professionally and plays amazing. It comes with the original case which is in very nice condition-all the clasps work. Original whammy bar. It has a 3 way toggle switch.
We took the neck off-there is no date stamped on the base but that is normal as they didn't stamp every single one. The serial number on the neck plate checks out to a 1975 as do the numbers on the pots and 2 original pickups. My tech said all the wiring is original and it looks like one wire was resoldered at some point. Pickguard is in great shape and no cracks even at the screwholes.
The body is in good shape. Obviously it's been played, it looks like a good relic but not all beat up. The laquer has some cracks in it-that was when Fender was using that cheaper laquer coating but the guitar is solid with no major dings at all. I haven't weighed it but it's a lighter Strat. All in all a killer guitar in great shape. I'd keep it but I don't like natural wood finishes and I have a Bill Nash Strat I love so this is going. If you want more pics give me your email address and I'll be happy to send them over along with my cell number if you wanna talk. I'
