1974 Stratocaster body original finish

An original finish custom colour Black '74 Strat body up for auction today.

This body came from guitar serial number 570981, the pot codes were 7439.

I have some of the other parts from this guitar in my other auctions.

This is an original finish with white undercoat peeking through in some places.

It is light weight around 1.95kg or 4.29lbs and has that great deep body contour that early '70s Strats are famous for.  Its has some natural look to it with some player wear on the elbow and rim and some great strap wear on the bottom rim.  The finish is litter with many marks a testiment to its age, see pics.

I would describe the finish as being quite good for its age with a hint of finish cracks in the right light. It has an oval shaped dent 1cm by 5mm on the top horn.  There is also some wear on the top horn. There are few chips exposing the white undercoat on the bottom rim. The pics should sum up this natural beauty well.

Its comes with the original rusty aged straplocks.

The interesting thing about this body is that the trem was installed on an angle, see pics.

There are no extra holes under the trem so this was how it was installed.

I guess the '70s weren't that flash for quality control anyway so this is a minor thing and adds character.

There is a bit of gouging between the tilt neck hole and neck bolt and some wood has bee
