This is a 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb amplifier, in excellent condition. When I bought this amp in 1991, it had been sitting in a garage in Orlando for 15 years or so. The original cord, coiled up inside, had become a solid coil of cracked plastic, so I had it replaced. The speaker, too, had frozen solid, so I had it re-coned. You can see the sticker of the shop that did it on shot close-up of the speaker. I believe it is the original speaker. The amp also needed a couple caps replaced at that time. Everything else is original, as I got it. You can see the speaker plug has lost its little cap. The reverb/vibrato foot switch is there. I think all the knobs are original, at least I didn't ever replace any.

Unfortunately someone tore off the very right side of the tube diagram, so you can see the year (''O'', 1965) but not all of the month. I'm guessing it's a ''G'', making this amp made in July of 1965. That makes sense, since the blackface Fender amps of 1964 and early 1965 didn't have the Fender logo on the speaker grille, and this one does. The speaker grill cloth appears to be original, no tears or rips. A couple of the silver threads stick out, but hey, it's 43 years old.

I haven't been playing for a while, but when I plugged this in and fired it up, it worked fine. Well, once I took it off ''standby.'' D'oh! In fact, my wife, from out out in the yard, said ''Hey, I heard 'Windy and Warm,' proves A. some songs never leave your fingers no matter how long you haven't been playing, and B. The amp still rocks. Reverb still has that lovely ''boink-swim%
